Bridgeway Employee Named to NJPRA Board
Delia Cortes, intake counselor at Bridgeway’s Partial Care Program, was recently unanimously voted onto the New Jersey Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (NJPRA) Board of Trustees. Bridgeway is also an organizational member of NJPRA.
NJPRA is an association dedicated to promoting psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery oriented services for people experiencing serious mental illnesses. NJPRA envisions a transformed public mental health system in New Jersey which is based upon the values of wellness and recovery. The Association brings together individuals, agencies and organizations to promote hope, opportunity, and community inclusion for persons in recovery and coping with a disability.
Delia’s mission has always been to educate people by providing temporary assistance and support for as long as it’s necessary, especially during the most difficult times. She’s assisted people to make informed choices, increased their opportunities in the community, take responsibility for their own wellness, and explore with them the many options available to address their symptoms and issues. This, she feels, is the true essence of recovery.
Delia Cortes was also recognized in 2006 for development of innovative services as the Honoree of NJAMHA’s Courage to Change Award.
Bridgeway is very proud of Delia Cortes and her dedication to her work. We congratulate her on this most prestigious appointment.
