Bridgeway Expands Service
Bridgeway’s recent award of three grants will afford cutting edge career, educational and housing services for persons with psychiatric needs. These new services are based on the recovery philosophy in which people who have serious mental illnesses can learn to manage their illnesses and live productive, satisfying lives in the communities or their choice.

The Supported Employment Grant
Bridgeway, a recognized leader in the NJ Mental Health field, will be forging into new territory by providing Supported Employment Services in Essex County while expanding services already provided in Union, Middlesex and Somerset.
Bridgeway’s commitment is to offer intensive staff training, both didactic and in-vivo, to five partnering Partial Care programs in four counties to increase employment outcomes for individuals receiving services.
The Supported Education Grant
Bridgeway has a long standing commitment to Supported Education (SEd) and has provided these services in Union County for over 11 years assisting over 100 people to return to school. Under this new initiative, Bridgeway will expand and/or strengthen the availability of supported education services throughout the central New Jersey region to assist people in accessing post-secondary education opportunities.
Home To Recovery Supportive Housing Initiative Grant For Persons Discharged From State Psychiatric Hospitals
Bridgeway will be expanding its’ successful Residential Intensive Support Team in Middlesex County to serve an additional five people currently living at Trenton State Psychiatric Hospital. The Bridgeway approach to Supportive Housing goes beyond the basic elements of flexible, person centered services and people leasing their own apartments. We incorporate evidence based and emerging best practices that promote recovery from mental illness and co-occurring conditions. Our vision is that, with the right support services available 24 hours a day, people who have serious mental illnesses can have a place of their own that is affordable and located in a safe neighborhood near friends, family and/or desired resources.
